Acara Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in Tolleson AZ

  • Lead payroll processing function, ensuring accurate and timely completion of payroll, Review and approve payroll transactions, including salary calculations, deductions, tax withholding, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax codes, ensure organizational compliance, and compliance at the federal and state level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues and reconcile discrepancies Conduct regular audits of payroll processes and data to identify and mitigate potential errors or discrepancies
  • Communication and interpersonal skills - Collaborate with internal audit and legal teams to address compliance issues, generate, and analyze payroll reports to provide insights into payroll trends costs and variances, prepare ad hoc reports and presentation to senior management, HR and finance teams
  • Nice to have - CPP (certified payroll professional certificate), UKG experience
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 4 years minimum of experience in payroll administration

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with payroll processing software and familiarity with payroll taxes and regulations
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with employees about payroll and benefits
  • Experience with HRIS systems and accounting software is a plus
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and tax laws
  • Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws governing compensation.
