The city of Las Vegas invites applicants for Construction Management Supervisor. This position supervises, assigns, and participates in the most complex and difficult work of Construction Project Representatives and Inspectors who manages the performance and progress of city capital improvement projects (CIPs); represents the city on public construction projects; and performs a variety of technical tasks and special projects relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Supervision Received and Exercised
Receives direction from higher level supervisory and management staff.
Acts as a formal supervisor, exercising direct supervision, including selecting new employees, monitoring and formally evaluating employee performance, and participating in the discipline and termination of employees.

Experience:
Five years of architectural or engineering design, construction management or construction inspection experience. Design or construction project management experience required.
Training:
Equivalent to graduation from high school, plus post secondary level technical education in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a closely related field. A bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is preferred.
License or Certificate:
Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license on the date of application, and maintenance thereafter.
Possession of one or more of the following certifications on the date of application, and must be continually maintained:
The following Special Inspector certifications from the International Code Council (ICC) are desirable: Prestressed Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Welding.
