JOB SUMMARY

Plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings and prepare calculations for construction projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have 1-2 years experience in drafting programs, i.e. Auto CAD.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the general public.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn and understand Fire Sprinkler Codes (NFPA 13)
  • Learn and understand basic building layouts/basic fire protection layout, up to and including, sprinkler heads/piping/ceiling grid and walls.
  • Assist with and learn submittal packages/running copies of prints/writing fire protection letters/meeting with fire inspectors.
  • Assist with field surveys and understand basic building and fire codes.
  • Investigate and procure all data required to develop a design.
  • Prepare material lists to accompany diagrams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
