Position Summary

The Communications Specialist is a Las Vegas-based contributor (open to relocation) on the Corporate Communications team, with a direct reporting line to the Senior Social Media Manager, while also providing support to the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications.

The Corporate Communications team is lean and agile, and the Communications Specialist plays a critical role on the team strategizing and executing PR and Social Media plans to support multiple business units.

You will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining our brand on social media, fostering meaningful relationships with trade and global media outlets and driving engagement across multiple digital platforms.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement strategic social media plans to increase brand awareness and drive channel growth.

  • Create compelling content for social media channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) that aligns with brand voice and resonates with target audiences.

  • Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and respond promptly and appropriately.

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with trade, national and global media outlets to secure media coverage for multiple business units.

  • Draft press releases, pitches, and other PR materials

  • Develop and execute communications plans for global gaming tradeshows including pitching and scheduling media interviews and drafting briefing sheets.

  • Assist with the coordination and management of media events, press conferences, and product launches.

  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing social media and PR metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in social media and PR.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management and public relations (experience in gaming is a plus)

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns and PR initiatives.

  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and PR software (e.g., Cision, Meltwater).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and pitches.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Social Media Management: Proficiency in managing various social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Ability to create engaging content, schedule posts, and monitor performance metrics.

  • Content Creation: Strong writing skills with the ability to create compelling content for social media posts, press releases, and other PR materials. Proficiency in storytelling and maintaining brand voice across different channels.

  • Media Relations: Experience in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, bloggers, journalists, and industry influencers.

  • PR Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic PR campaigns to achieve company objectives. Experience in drafting press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials. Knowledge of PR best practices and trends.

  • Experience engaging a broad cross-section of stakeholders globally

  • Analytics and Reporting: Proficiency in using analytics tools to track and analyze social media and PR performance metrics. Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaigns and initiatives.

  • Creative Thinking: Innovative mindset with the ability to come up with creative ideas and solutions to engage audiences and differentiate the brand in the marketplace. Experience in brainstorming and executing unique social media and PR campaigns.

Education

  • BS in Communications, Marketing, New Media or Public Relations
