Job Description

Olin Chlor Alkali Products and Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, is seeking an Operations Improvement Engineer. This position will be located at the Henderson, Nevada manufacturing site. Additional locations may include Augusta, GA, Lemont, IL and Santa Fe Springs, CA. In this role, you will provide engineering support to the following manufacturing locations: Augusta, GA, Henderson, NV, Lemont, IL and Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Operations Improvement Engineers are technical resources on the Operations Team that provide engineering support in three primary areas: Process Safety, Capital Project Management and Process Optimization. In addition, this role will oversee the implementation of mechanical and instrumentation integrity programs.

Improvement Engineer Essential Job Functions:

  • Continuously strive to improve plant operations in order to improve cost and yield.
  • Provide technical management of the regional bleach process safety program; implement projects and process modifications to improve site process safety
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to process safety incidents
  • Work with stakeholders to complete the Front-End Loading on projects; prepare detailed scopes of work for proposed projects in conjunction with other site resources such as production engineering, maintenance, reliability, EH&S, Finance, Tech Center, Operations, Engineering and Business Leadership.
  • Support field construction efforts through interpretation of plans, specifications, schedules, and work with assigned construction personnel to ensure a safe, timely, cost effective and quality project execution.
  • Evaluate processes to continuously drive improvements in raw material usage, cost, quality, and yield.
  • Provide process engineering support to all regional bleach plants.
  • Oversee the implementation of mechanical and instrumentation integrity programs

Improvement Engineer Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of full time engineering experience; project management experience preferred
  • Work experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects preferred
  • Work experience in performing Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP/LOPA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM standard preferred
  • Must be willing to travel 25-50% of the time based upon project needs
  • A Valid US Driver's license
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Prior Olin experience in a related role preferred

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $92,800 - $144,000. This salary is only an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
