ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Meow Wolf is proud to provide one of a kind experience to students through our internship program. To be eligible students must be enrolled in a Nevada-based college or university to apply.

This is a part-time internship with no more than 29 hours per week, and is expected to be in-person at Meow Wolf's exhibition Omega Mart in Las Vegas, Nevada. Students will be paid $18 per hour and be working with company leaders and experts in their field.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a Nevada-based college or university to apply. Students at Partner schools will be given preference, including the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

WHAT WE OFFER OUR INTERNS

  • An hourly wage of $18.

  • Part-time flexible internship, no more than 29 hours per week.

  • College credit available.

  • A letter of recommendation upon successful completion of internship.

  • Support from a Meow Wolf mentor who is assigned to each student.

  • In field experience and specialty training.

  • Access to Meow Wolf senior leadership, and the opportunity to grow and learn from industry experts and company leaders.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR INTERNS

  • Enrolled at a Nevada-based college or university.

  • Enrolled in college and pursuing a degree program.

    • Although it is not required - a goal of a career in technology would be beneficial.

  • Live within commuting distance of Omega Mart for the internship time period.

  • Discretion. Many of our projects are still a secret.

  • Commitment and self-directed initiative.

  • Experience in any of the following: fabrication, scenic design, scenic or theater painting, 3D design, sculpture, mask or advanced costuming, shop skills

  • Availability for the entire Internship duration from June 10 - August 23, 2024.

Internship Description:

The Exhibition Art & Scenic team is an integral part of Meow Wolf's operations in Las Vegas. The team is comprised of creative artists, fabricators, and designers who focus on the daily operations, maintenance and iterative improvements of and to Meow Wolf's Omega Mart in Las Vegas.

Duties:

  • Inspect all parts of art installations.

  • Keep track of Scenic Art's inventory.

  • Clean and maintain shop areas.

  • Work with other Ops teams to keep the exhibition fresh, and functional.

  • Maintain show graphics, scenic pieces, and murals.

  • Document all upgrades and changes.

  • Assist team with a variety of tasks, from interactive tech to hands-on art restoration.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in creative painting.

  • Excellent verbal, graphic, and written communications skills

  • Organization and attention to detail

  • Comfortable with google suites, excel, and windows

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a group

  • Committed to guest and employee safety

Learning Objectives

  • Explore working on a professional team to maintain immersive art experiences and museums.

  • Gain technical skills and proficiency in a wide range of tools, techniques and equipment.

  • Effective collaboration between internal departments and external partners
