Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and direct local teams responsible for both regional and Corporate responsibilities, including general ledger, payroll, consolidation and stock administration
  • Provide leadership over the month-end and quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Responsible for key accounting activities, including but not limited to: cash, fixed assets, other assets, accounts payable, other liabilities, payroll, and stock administration
  • Ensure the joint venture's financial results are properly integrated into the Company's financial statements, in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Support the America's accounting team through the quarterly reviews and annual external audit to successful completion
  • Establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, policies and initiatives on new accounting guidelines for effective adoption
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place within the Americas region and compliant with U.S. GAAP
  • Partner with other accounting and finance leaders to drive operational improvements, including optimization of the monthly and quarterly close cycle as well as the accounts payable process
  • Lead the team through improvement projects for key financial/ERP systems and other business processes
  • Drive organization improvements to develop the best team possible and work with staff to ensure that adequate development plans are in place so that we create and grow a bench of high performing finance and accounting talent
  • Lead and/or support other accounting initiatives, including special projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:. Preferred or Desired:

  • Public accounting and industry experience

Required:

  • BA or advanced degree in Accounting, active CPA certification
  • Technically competent and highly skilled in U.S. GAAP
  • 15+ years' experience in a medium to large scale organization, preferably working in the medical device or capital equipment industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience managing large teams globally and working in a cross-functional environment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • It is essential that prospective candidates possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and understand the implications their actions and those of the Accounting team will have on the strategic and organizational demands of a rapidly growing company. Additional professional qualifications will include, but not be limited to:

  • Detailed oriented, passion and curiosity to dive into problem areas before they become financial surprises
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to partner and communicate effectively with senior leaders across all functional areas, as needed
  • Appropriately engaging personality so that you are sought out as a solution provider and problem solver
  • Experience working with peers and leaders in non-accounting and financial functions (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Logistics, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through major changes without losing momentum. The ability to inspire continuous focus on key business drivers, as well as the Company's mission/values
  • Continuous improvement oriented - has familiarity with lean principles and how to apply them to Accounting's value streams
  • Customer service oriented - high sense of urgency

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, future potential and internal pay parity.
