NaphCare is hiring an experienced Mental Health Director (Clinical PhD, PsyD, or LCSW) just like you to lead our Mental Health team at the CITY OF LAS VEGAS Detention Center located in LAS VEGAS, NV.

NaphCare has a partnership with NetCE that provides CEU/CME for our staff. NetCE uses a rigorous peer review process to ensure that all activities and content are up-to-date. This service streamlines continuing education for all NaphCare Employees to meet state specific requirements for maintaining licensing.

Position Prerequisites:

* Doctoral degree (PsyD or PhD) with active, unrestricted psychology license in NV (preferred); or Masters prepared candidate with active, unrestricted mental health professional licensure (LCSW) in NV;

* At least 1 year of experience in a correctional/inpatient secure forensic mental health setting.

* At least 1 year of management/leadership experience.

* Court-ordered evaluation experience; specifically, competence to stand trial evaluations and report-writing.

* Preferred but not required: Certification as an Examiner for Competency to Stand Trial by the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) (NaphCare will assist in obtaining if not already certified)

Position Description:

  • Coordinate, lead and participate in educational and training activities related to patient mental health care
  • Perform and document mental health evaluations to inform treatment needs
  • Perform and document court-ordered competency to stand trial evaluations for the Municipal Court (misdemeanor cases only) and provide testimony as required
  • Perform and document readiness for court appearance for the Mental Health court docket
  • Facilitate patient treatment to include admission and discharge from the mental health unit, housing change requests, seclusion, suicide precautions, close observation, and observation level changes
  • Familiar with/experience with case conceptualization and diagnosis according to the DSM-V-TR
  • Coach and collaborate with site mental health clinical staff
  • Ensure all mental health clinicians are educated
  • Work cooperatively with all psychiatric providers
  • Assist with recruiting efforts for mental health staff
